My friend Sasha Muratov of Moscow came to vistit me yesterday! Here's a guy who has created the only real "baseball league" in Russia! He comes to the states every year, brings his team, and they play in tournaments usually in Florida and Texas. He use to be a pro hockey player but as he got too old for that, he started playing baseball. He has his son involved (who is in his 30's) and his wife helps in managing the league. Great people!

Sasha always brings me a little hand made gift from Russia and then turns around and buys something from me. What a nice guy! I've given him some NBTA shirts and he proudly wears them for me when he's out touring. When he came by yesterday he had one of them on.

So, Sasha makes the rounds! The picture above was taken with Pete Rose quite a few years ago...but you should see this guys album! Name a player and he has a picture of him with that player! It's pretty amazing...he loves this game and I'm glad he's trying to get kids involved in Russia. Who knows, maybe one day we'll be able to see a great Russian team compete in the International games. Sasha is heading out today...May the Lord bless his work!
