A quiet morning

After reading the Professors blog this week about their venture to see Keb Mo, then taking a friend to the airport yesterday who was on his way to perform a few concerts up north, I've been thinking about the days I use to do those things. For over forty years there was probably only a few days that I didn't pick up my guitar to practice, play, write, record, or perform.

A few months ago I decided to bring up my acoustic from my recording studio and have it available to pick up and do a little playing every once in awhile. I set it behind my bedroom door so I would see it everyday. It's still sitting there. It hasn't moved or made a sound. I was about to pick it up this morning when I remembered that my graphic designer was suppose to send me a finished layout of my new brochure for NBTA. So needless to say, I headed for the computer with my cup of coffee instead. After checking out the design, I started reading some other email and got to a few blogs...then I went back to my room for something and saw my guitar again. It's still sitting there.

Mike! Good to hear from you! Lost your phone numbers when I bought a new phone...but I know that's not a good excuse! Hope you're well and hope to see you soon.

After the way you used to pick on it, I wonder if the guitar's feelings are hurt that it's neglected. I play a fair amount these days, but the picture of your guitar could be an appropriate image for my songwriting "instrument." These are different days for us.

Not sure if it's feelings are hurt...but, I'm sure it's been thankful for the rest and pleased at the lack of bad notes being played!
Yes, things are different. Though I wouldn't change a thing right now.

Did you get T's schedule?

Times are different...seasons do change, but a song in the heart strummed by a friend is a moment we all long to share and have more of in this life. So Marky when the time comes be ready "in season and out" to share what He alone can give to the heart!
