Pacman, Adams, and Fisher

So the verdict came down on Pacman Jones. All I can say is...it's about time someone had enough guts to hold out of control pros accountable for their actions and apply new standards for them to live up to.

I'm all for mercy and grace when someone screws up (man, do I need it!), but when someone continues to find themselves in trouble like Pacman has, it's obvious the man needs help and I believe it's up to those around him to help. What makes me mad about this whole thing is that the character of the Titans owners and coaches really came to light in the past couple of years. They ignored their responsibility to really help Pacman due to their greed. Pacman is an incredible player...but his life is worth more than just making great plays on Sundays. He's a young man who needs people around him to teach him and give him more of a reason to live on and off the football field.

The verdict came down on Pacman...I just wished the commisioner would have come down on the owner Bud Adams and coach Fisher for not dealing with the situation before it got out of hand.

Amen! So many of these people--pro athletes, pop and movie stars--are walking paths dangerous to themselves, to those around them, to kids they don't even know.
