Smoking Allowed!

After the dreaded October 1st "No Smoking" law came into effect, thankfully, a wise local Sports Bar owner decided to not lose his customers. He leased a space across the street, put in 2 garage doors that open up that the law says you have to have, and has his new place packed! Sad thing is, he has to now pay double staff and another lease....but after visiting early tonight (we tried to go last night but couldn't get in!), I think he'll do just fine. I took this picture of Becky and our good friend jb from the parking lot. We're sitting right where the garage door opens up.

Earlier this week, jb and I visited our other favorite local place which is usually "standing room only". There were plenty of seats available! Strange being in a sports bar with Monday Night Football on, and seeing half the seats empty and half of the folks there standing and smoking outside around an ashtray.

I know all you non-smokers are happy...but I still can't get over the fact that the government is dictating to business owners (especially bars) that they will not tolerate smoking in a PRIVATELY OWNED BUSINESS. Yes...I'll get over it and will quit talking about it.

Anyway, as we were having dinner and enjoying a beer and a smoke...it was so nice to see the Yankees lose again!!! Go Cleveland! And now at home I'm watching the Angels beat the Red Sox at this moment! Go Angels!! How nice it would be to not see the Yankees and Red Sox in the World Series. I'm hoping the Rockies win for the NL, but would also love to see the Cubs win. And since the Twins aren't anywhere around, I'm learning toward the Angels for the AL. With that said...I really don't care who is in the World Series...just as long as it's not the Yankees or the Red Sox!

Mark, there is no other way to say this, but to just say it. I wish you would stop smoking, I know, it will be your decision, but there are many people who want to see around for a very long time, including me!!

Sorry, just had to say that.

Thanks for the encouragement Ruth and thanks for feeling strong enough in your convictions to tell that! Yes, I do think about quitting, and I know that I should. It is one of those strongholds that keeps haunting me, and it is also one of those pleasures that I can't seem to get over!

Thanks for being a great sister and I cherish your concern. Bless you!
