May 31, 2008 - Last Day in the Bellevue Center Mall

We finally received our walking papers from the new owners of the Bellevue Center Mall. They will be closing the doors at the end of May and will begin to tear the building down. Bellevuites are torn between the idea of demolishing a perfectly great building and building a brand new shopping community. The new idea is to have a open shopping area with every business in their own building. Why this is a good idea in a place where it snows, rains, and the humidity makes most stay indoors in the summer is a mystery to me. I already hear the complaints of those who visit the new "Nashville West" shopping area where it is set up in the way our new mall will be. People are already missing the indoor malls that we've enjoyed for many years.

Anyway, we will be closing our doors and after 8 months of searching and looking at new spaces for NBTA, we still have not found the right place to move to. It's created a lot of stress in my life and though I feel we will land somewhere sometime, I was hoping to not have to be closed for even a day during the move. Sadly, on our side of town there are just not enough buildings big enough, or set up in a way that can handle what we do. I've found space in other areas of Nashville that would work, but it would be inconvenient for most of our customers to get to.

So...the search continues and we pray the Lord opens the right space for us at just the right time.

But we've been down to the wire before, right? All will be well, one way or another, but I hope it works out the way you want it to.

Thanks Michael. I hope so too! Just wish I knew how to listen and hear from the Lord a little better.

I think we all wish that at some level or another. But then there are those who say they want to hear but don't hear and don't really want to. You're not one of them, bro'.
