Dan FogelbergAugust 13, 1951 ~ December 16, 2007
Every time I hear Dan Fogelberg sing I stop what I am doing and listen. He brings back great memories of my past, but most of all, he reminds me that music creates emotions that inspire each of us and helps keep our sanity in an out of control world.
When I was in high school I performed at a Steak and Ale restaurant one evening. A woman came up to me during my break and told me that I sounded like a new artist by the name of Dan Fogelberg she had recently heard. The next day or so I went to a music store and bought Dan's first recording, Home Free. I was blown away at his writing. Of course, I didn't sound like Dan other than my voice was high at the time and I sang folksy type songs during that period. I loved everything about that record. That album started me off on trying to write songs with a purpose to move hearts...and though I never accomplished that task like Dan Fogelberg did, I was able to make a career out of music for 30 years. Thanks Dan. I'll see you on the other side.
