Rainy Day

Got up to a rainy day...looking forward to coaching another game for the Hillwood High School fallball team, but no such luck! Seems like the rain missed us all week but of course when it's time to play ball it pours! I know the guys are dissapointed.

Interesting bunch of players. Most of them are freshmen. We have a lot of work to do to get these guys ready for spring. Thankfully, we have a new coach at Hillwood and I am looking forward to seeing what he will do for the program in the coming years. He played ball in college and seems to be a young man of character. Our old coach quit this summer (after way too many years of not caring for the program!) but I hope he's been revived by the change in his life. He really could have been a decent coach...I think he was just burned out. He was a nice guy.

I have had the priviledge of working with some of the HHS players in our academy for the past few weeks...some are taking it seriously and you can see the results in their game and in their attitude. They're the ones that will help kick start the new program at Hillwood. My desire is to help these guys see that they can enjoy some hard work and make high school a great part of their lives.

Rainy days...kinda messes with scheduled games, but you know...that's why we have an indoor facility! We're never rained out here.

Okay. Sorry about the rainy day. We had one here as well, with a little thunder and lightning to boot!
