Roo's Princess

Every second Tuesday, of every month, I get to listen to the music and story telling offered by Roo's Kids Zone. I'm not sure who Roo is, but a lady who sings off key and dresses like a fairy tale princess is the star of the program. There's a guy usually dressed like a Renaissance man, who plays a loud out of tuned electric guitar over the already loud cheesy sounding music tracks...and yes, he's also the guy mixing the whole mess throughout the program.

My store is directly above the stage so the music and voice comes in loud and clear due to an incredibly loud PA system! Being an old fart who made his living for years trying to get people to sing and play on key...it is a bit disturbing! I usually try to find something else to do for the hour and a half (seems like three!) and bear through the experience of what I'm sure is also at times quite painful for some of the kids.

Here's to Tuesday...May it come and go quickly!

I think you should take his place one day and show him and the kids how music SHOULD be played!!! No wonder rock bands are so bad these days..lol

Yeah...I think I'm done with that part of my life! I know these folks are trying to make living. I should be a little more forgiving...but it's just so hard to listen to it! Thankfully, I made it through the whole ordeal and I have about 3 weeks to recover til it comes again.

That must be an awful time for you! Certainly we've hit our own share of sour notes over the years, but I can't imagine the whole event being out of tune.

I have a similar thing that happens much more often, although it isn't quite as bad. My office is almost directly over the music department's drum lab. And you know those nervous drummers! Now and then, I get this stuttering and surreal soundtrack to my life in the office.
