So they lost their first game. But what we saw was a team that has come a long way very quickly. Hillwood High has not had a good baseball program for many years. But this year, they have hired a coach that truly is a baseball coach and wants to turn this program around. It's evident that the students respect their new coach and it's evident that they are willing to work hard to make this a year that other schools will see a team that shows up to play hard and will finish in a way that will demand respect. What a great change.
So there are four games this week...with some great teams. I doubt if I'll be able to leave work to go to three of them, but I'm working on my schedule to get to a home game this Thursday.
This is my sons senior year. He has received an invitation and accepted to play for Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga. We are so excited that his dream of playing college ball is right around the corner! All I can say is...it came too fast! Can't we have just a few more years?

My favorite position in base/softball.... Best of luck to your son and to you..... spring has many wonderful opportunities.
Thanks John. There was a slight chance of Tom coming up to ETSU...but he's made his decision now. I have to admit, I think he has made the right decision for his first year of school.
Mark, if you have an electronic version of his schedule, please send it. I'd love to come to town for a game.
