While in Boulder, CO we were about to park our car in this space until we read the sign. I laughed at first and then I realized it wasn't a joke. So, if you now want an up close special parking space when you go shopping, you can forget about the perks of being handicapped...

Okay so here is a thought. Why would anyone want to reserve a parking space for a vehicle which obviously is saving fuel usage and improving air quality?? I am also assuming this space is close and convenient to your destination?? Oh yea, I forgot you WERE in Colorado, that explains it.
I think your idea of it being a joke is right on! Let's keep those gas guzzling fuel inefficient SUV's and other vehicles driving aimlessly around and around for that one parking space two steps closer shall we.
There were no handicapped parking spaces! That is a sad commentary for Colorado.
