Finally, back relief!

Holding heavy electric guitars over my shoulder for about 40 years and then throwing baseballs has kept my upper middle back in pain for the past 25 years. I've been going to chiropractors for years and they have helped me tolerate the pressure that the scarred tissue has created. This past year I have been doubling up on chiropractic care and massages...which has really helped...but is extremely expensive when you have to see them both twice a month.

My masseuse moved her practice to a new clinic where the doctor not only does chiropractic care, he has a machine that shoots a laser into your muscle to break up the scar tissue. This has really helped a lot! He told me that pretty much every major sports team has this machine to help heal the injuries that take place on the fields. After about five or six treatments with this the past 6 weeks, adjustments, and massages, I have been able to get through the days throwing baseballs with a lot less discomfort! That's a miracle for this 52 year old body!

Now to get to the point of this long drawn out post...my chiro wanted to do one last thing. Try acupuncture. I spent over an hour yesterday, having the laser, an adjustment, and acupuncture on my back. Sixteen needles in my back, on one foot, and one hand. I walked out of there with absolutely NO PAIN! Got to work and knew I would be throwing for at least an hour straight...ended up being about an hour and a half and thought that my back would go out on me. Well...it didn't and this morning I'm up and still feel no pain! That's amazing after living with constant pain for the last 20 years or so. I know the pain will probably creep back in a few days or so, but it's just amazing how I feel right now. It's been a long time I've been able to just sit and not feel my upper back and neck hurting.

There u have it. No surgery and I'm still walking and working!

What great news! Great for you and for those of us experiencing similar pain as we age. I'll have to look into it.

Ruth, it's Friday night and I can't believe that I still feel incredibly well! No pain! This is truly a miracle for me. My upper back has always hurt for years and years. I'm going back Tuesday for another treatment. Doc said that he wants to do this for the next couple of weeks and then we should be able to do this only every few months. But yes...I feel great and I hope it continues! I'll let you know.
