We've been attending a church downtown for the past month or so called Mosaic. It's near the corner of 8th Ave and Commerce in an old historic house, now a restaurant, called The Standard at the Smith House. At the corner is this statue of Billy Graham and at the base is the scripture he loved; "For God so loved the world he gave His only Son, that whom so ever believe in him would not perish, but have everlasting life". John 3:16
I remember one time when the Cody band was playing in Asheville, NC and we took some time to eat at a local restaurant. It just happened to be a night when Billy Graham was eating there too. When he stood up, I was surprised to see how tall he was! I knew he was tall, but in person he did seem a bit larger than life. What a great man who pretty much kept the Gospel simple...as it should be. I'm glad they chose to honor him with this statue downtown. A great reminder to all who pass by...that it's all about the Cross. Thankfully, Billy Graham made sure people understood that.

I remember going to a crusade of his here in Mpls when I was a kid and was astounded in how he was able to make things clear for both kids and adults. I do admire him.
OH, and I must add, I unfortunately do not see that quality in his son Franklin. What a shame.
Yes Ruth...there's only one Billy Graham, but don't be too hard on Franklin! He's a good man. Just a different ministry.
