I remember before I ever got a computer how I thought it was silly to think I actually needed one...except for maybe using it to help me in my music. Now, I don't know how I ever got things done without having one to communicate and keep my "stuff" together in life.

I bought my first computer, the Atari 1040ST around 1987...I think. I only used it for sequencing music. I think I tried to write a letter on it but didn't have a printer so that was that! But, this was a great computer for music! I got around pretty dang fast on it and did hundreds of demos for a ton of record and publishing companies, as well as, the bands I played with like Cody. It's sitting in a box in my basement. I tried to sell it once and when it didn't sell I figured I'd just hang on to it and hope it will be worth something someday.
Now with my computers...I do everything from keeping records to communicating with folks through email, 5 blogs, business website, Facebook, MySpace, and now CheckSwing.net a myspace for baseball and softball players. It's amazing how much you can get done, create, communicate with just a few typed words, a mouse, and a little time. I love it. It keeps me connected to so many friends that normally would have just been a memory because of the time it would take to reach out to them through what use to be normal means.
Here's to the computer! and all those who continue to make this an amazing technology!

Wow! That computer cost more than $2000 (back then)! It is amazing how much computer you can get for $1500 (today's exchange rate). I still remember those ping pong games in black and white!
