We The People Stimulus Package
"Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah, and said to him, "Behold you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint for us a king to govern us like all the nations." But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, "Give us a king to govern us."
And Samuel prayed to the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, "Hearken to the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you...but they have rejected ME from being king over them. According to all the deeds which they have done to ME, from the day I brought them out of Egypt even to this day, forsaking ME and serving other gods, so they are also doing to you.
Now then, hearken to their voice; only, you shall solemnly warn them, and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them." I Samuel 7:4-9
It's not so much the world that is being judged for desiring a king other than God...it's God's people who have rejected God, and that brings discipline and judgment. Reject God's laws and His ways...we will reap what we sow. I personally in the past have rejected God and asked for a "king". But like a good Father, God continues to discipline me and even allow me to choose to rebel so that I continue to learn of His ways.
I rejoice at what is going on in our world. Not because I want the discipline or judgment from God...but rejoicing in the hope that one day, we will come under His Kingship and as scripture says of that time..."the whole world will be filled with the Glory of God."

As He so earnestly taught us..."thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done; on earth as it tis in heaven..." May His Kingdom come & soon.
"Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city." (Rev.22:14)
Amen Pam!
It's a hard thing for us people to trust God and have faith in the promise of things to come. But hopefully, God will continue to move in our hearts and minds and teach us His ways.
