Just another day?

Yesterday I knew we were going to have a light day at NBTA. We only only had one lesson on the books and wouldn't you know it...they never showed up. We ended up doing absolutely nothing! I shouldn't say that. I actually got a lot of cleaning done. Something that I tend to ignore most of the time since there usually are a ton of other things to do.

This morning as I checked my emails and watched the news I'm thinking about what this coming week might bring. Today is the start of the "Feast of Tabernacles"or "Sukkut". This is a 7 day observance that the Lord set aside for the children of Israel and then an 8th day is added but considered a separate feast. It's a time for them to live in temporary "booths" or shelters to remember the time the Lord took them from the land of Egypt before they entered the promised land, rejoice in the Lord for His protection, and a time of gathering in the fruit of the land, the great harvest. (Leviticus 23)

Jesus observed this feast and came to the feast in the middle of the week and taught in the Temple. The people were amazed at His teaching yet wondered why the leaders didn't arrest him...they thought that maybe He really was the Messiah.

This may be a picture of what is to come. Not that we know when Jesus will come again, but maybe this is a picture of when an outpouring of God's Spirit will come, healing, or maybe even judgement will come at this time. Jesus spoke of judgement during His appearance at the Temple. (John 7) All I know is that God commanded this feast to be observed for all the ages...so it must be important for us to recognize this time. The blessings, the harvest, the protection, and realize that we are temporarily in our "booths" until He comes.

Celebrate and give thanks! May our eyes be on Jesus.

On 10/6 you wrote: "With all the leaders that are in power now it seems we may be at the prophecied time." These men--bad men, I think, including Bush--get all the press, but I'm glad that, while they appear to be leading us toward distruction on national and global levels, they aren't ultimately in charge.

And now NKs "threat" seems to have become a reality, and as such (reality) I'm sure the world leaders will have a hard time figuring out what to do about it.

I believe that we are the generation that will see and experience the coming of the Lord. These bad men (including myself) will come to know Him...and come to know His love, mercy, and grace. Scripture tells us that at this time the "Nations will come and worship the Lord". We can condemn the "leaders" or pray for them. God revealed in Scripture ,that even the bad kings of the past were used for the "glory of God" and we notice that even the greatest king, the one God called a man after his own heart (David) was an adulterer and a murderer. Yet God, loved him and used him for His glory. North Korea is a tool to bring about the purposes of God..just like America, Iraq, Iran, Israel, and the rest of the world. The time is near. Look up and be ready!
