The Outpost

Here's a picture of the main barn at the Outpost where we had breakfast every morning. They had a great back porch where we sat and looked at nothing but blue skies, land, trees, and cows. Of course the resident dog and cat kept us company and waited for us to drop something for them to eat. The food was incredible so I don't think too many of us gave up anything but a crumb or two.

About the only thing that could have been better about this place is that our cabin could have used a TV! Although my wife was extremely happy that it didn't have one. I really do like falling asleep to something pointless on the tube and having a cup of coffee while watching the morning news. But I have to admit...not watching the news in the morning certainly kept my mind a lot cleaner for the day. I never got ticked or had certain words cross my mind from listening to the stupidity that I usually hear coming from the mouths of those great wise ones in Washington. Being out in the middle of nowhere certainly has its advantages!

there was/is a place in western North Carolina called the High Hamption Inn - I went there a couple of times in the 70's and enjoyed the solitude of the mountains without TV......... I liked it...... thanks for sharing those thoughts - it is kinda like begeting and begating... you say something and it reminds me of something - usually in another time and place. Peace to you.

Yeah...it's been great reading Michael's adventures with his first band. Certainly brings back many memories when someone touches on things that you've experienced to a degree! Blessings! mark
