Growing up in Korea was pretty amazing. As a family, I'm sure it made us closer than most due to the need to be together in a foreign land. We always had a White Christmas and very cold ones too!
When I was quite young we lived more in the middle of Seoul and around the early 60's my father had purchased land "outside" of the city so that we could build a compound for all the missionaries and have enough land to build a college. Today that college is called "Korea Christian University".
What was outside the city then...is now right in the city of Seoul. My dad knew this would happen and decided early on to find the best property for the "future". Seoul is huge and I think has about 14 to 15 million living within the city limits. An incredible city that kinda sadly looks like any other major city. I guess that happens no matter where you live.
If you'd like to get a little pumped about Christmas and hear a new version of "O Come Emmanuel" go to my friend eLi's website and have a listen. http://www.elinews.com
