15 days before Christmas

I get a little sad every year before Christmas. Now that our family has grown up, mom and dad are gone, and each of us have our own families, we have never all been together for the yearly celebration of Jesus' birth.

I looked for a picture that had all my brothers and sisters, but this was the only one I found that had most of us in it. Our youngest brother, Don, was not born yet, and we are missing our two adopted Korean brothers, John and Nam. This picture was probably taken around 1960. I'm the middle brother looking down.

I realize how blessed we are as a family. There is hardly a day that goes by that we don't talk or communicate through email with one of our brothers or sisters...even though we are spread out all over the world. Though Christmas only comes once a year, we celebrate daily that our Lord and Saviour has given us this gift of love.

We enjoy this season with our own families now...but we look to the furture with great hope and excitement of that coming day when we are all together again in one place.
