8 days until Christmas...Happy Birthday B & P!

Today is my wife's birthday and we also celebrate our cat's birthday at this time. Becky is my wife and our cat's name is Puppy. Yes...Puppy.

When my mother died December 14th, 1988 we traveled to California for the funeral. While we were there of course, Becky got a little slighted on her day. Anyway, when we got back home we were both sad and we knew we needed to bring life into our home. My wife had always wanted a cat...but I was NOT a cat person and still not crazy about cats. Anyway, for Christmas that year, I relented and we went to a friend who rescued cats and found Puppy. Puppy really is more like a dog since he only grew up with us and our dogs! He went for years literally barking instead of meowing!

Eighteen years later, Puppy is still the dog of the house! Our huge dog tries to make him think that she is, but Puppy rules! It's not uncommon to see our dog Nabi sleeping on the floor somewhere while Puppy curls up in the dogs bed. And at times, we find them both curled up together enjoying a good sleep. Another Christmas is upon us and thankfully, Puppy is still around to enjoy it. He is getting very old for a cat...but we pray he hangs on a few more years!
