The last banquet...at least in high school!

Tom received his "letter" last night at the Hillwood High School Sports Banquet. As a freshman Tom was a starter on varsity baseball and had a good 4 year run.

After a little dinner, the banquet began and first up...the Baseball team! Yeah! We'll get this done quickly and get home. No such luck. We sat through all the "spring teams" which included; softball, bowling, volleyball, track, basketball, golf, and wrestling. Both girls and boys teams with their coaches making long speeches to give out the awards...and two and half hours later, we were home!

Glad we're done with high school. Tom has had a rough 4 years with a baseball program that has been neglected. The new coach this year looks like he might get it back on track, but it's going to take quite a few more years and a lot of dedication from the coach, players, and parents.

So, in about 15 days we go to another ceremony. GRADUATION!! We're all looking forward to this. I can't tell you how proud we are of Tom for making the grades and keeping focused toward the next step. I never got to college...but my son will! And even better, he'll be playing baseball too!
