The picture is one I took at one of the last Nashville Sounds baseball games of the season. Notice how few people are in the stands. Here's a team that won it all last year and came in first place in their division this year. As you can see, there are a lot of empty seats in the stands. Sad.
The Sounds are building a new stadium downtown and should be in it in 2008. It will be right by the Titans stadium. They are redeveloping this area and will be bringing in hotels, restaurants, and businesses to create a new shopping area. Hopefully, that will bring more folks to the games. It will be nice but I will really miss this old stadium. It's got a great history and vibe. I hear tha Belmont University is trying to purchase it to add a soccer and football stadium beside it. That would be great for Belmont and the city. Hope that works out.
Now we settle into winter. A couple of months before most of the kids start kicking back into the baseball mode. Hope we can survie til then...

Hang in there, Mark. Baseball will return! And I bet you'll still be there to greet it when it does. In the meantime, head this way if you get a chance.
