This is a 60 year old school, right off the interstate close to downtown Chattanooga. Driving through the streets to get there it certainly would be called an inner-city school. Sadly, this area of town has seen better days.
We talked to some kids that are going to Temple and all of them had nothing but positve things to say about their school. They all seem to love it. We ended our tour at Engle Stadium where great players like Roger Hornsby, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Satchel Paige, and a a zillion more greats played. We walked all through the facility and it was pretty incredible to feel the energy that seemed to still be present. There were some plaques that told the story that I tried to take pictures of with my phone but didn't come out well enough to see the info.
After a night in the suggested "Microtel" motel...need I say more, we are heading back to campus to experience chapel service and talk with the President of Temple and meet some of the professors and staff over a lunch provided by the school.

Good times and safe travels. I'll try to take a look at the school web site and see what it's like.
It's been nice...Tom really seems to like this place. After meeting with the president and some staff today we feel even better about what they do here for the kids. It's seems to be a great environment and they really seem to care about building up character. We'll see if this is the place the Lord has called him to.
